For those that don’t know the 171st Rivervalley scout troop is fortunate enough to own an ‘L’ shaped piece of land behind and to the side of the community centre. This land is held in trust by the Scout Foundation of Scouting Ireland.
Saddly our prefabricated building became so vandlised that we had to remove it from the land a number of years ago. The great news is that the plans for a purpose built (and hopefully vandal proof) Scout training facility are currently with Fingal County Council awaiting planning.
Those who have had a chance to catch a glimpse of the plans are more than impressed

Scouting couldn’t survive in Rivervalley without the continued support of Holy Family school. The use of their premises week in week out doesn’t go unappreciated. We’ve also got to thank Saint Colmcilles Scout Group in Swords for the use of their recently refurbished den for first aid training, a number of overnight and weekend activities. Hopefully when we get our own premises we’ll be able to return the favours in some way!
