Our Scout group has seen many changes over its 25 year history. The Group started in the kitchen of a Rivervalley home, moving  to the Holy Family NS in October 1984, a few years later they moved to their own scout den behind the Community Centre and there they stayed for the next 18 years.

After a short closure the group reopened in January 2004 with 6–8 youth members. Over the last 5 years the group has regrown from one section to five, with 68 youth members and a leader base of 10 Adults.

We are back running meetings in the school as we had to move out of the Scout Den due to health & safety concerns, but we aspire to build a permanent facility for scouting in Rivervalley in the near  future.

Yes we’ve had our downs but there have  definitely been a lot more ups. With our plans & the continued support of the parents and community we will be here to see another 25 years,   bigger & better than ever.
